Brown, yellow, white, and purple; shiny, dull, and creamy; large, small, and teeny-tiny; edible and poisonous--probably, why else would a mushroom have a shiny purple cap--in any event they were chosen for spore printing, not for eating. We popped off their stems, left them gill side down on construction paper, and washed our hands well before lunch.
